PAPER BAS RELIEFS - ARCHES
These paper "bas-reliefs" are created by hand-cutting layers of cardstock to build depth and create forms. Each layer is drawn, cut, and assembled one at a time to produce these abstract forms and architectural objects. The crisp edges create light and shadow to make the final composition. No color or ink is added; all visual effect comes from the thickness of the paper.

The process is entirely manual- drafting, cutting, and aligning each layer with precision. These pieces are sculptural, low-relief works that reveal their detail through light, shadow, and the subtle variations inherent in handmade craft.
