The first design exercise for a woodshop course. The assignment called for a single box with an interior space of 27 cubic inches. Any proportions are permitted, as long as it meets this volumetric restriction. This box was designed around the measurements of coffee pod sleeves - able to hold eight 1.5 x 1.5 in cardboard sleeves.
Coffee pod sleeves are held tightly vertically by the box, with a large counterweight to balance the box and provide a formal proportion.
Small wooden blocks provide further stability for the sleeves, and allow for variation in number of sleeves in the box.
